After about 2-4 months the facial muscles will weaken resume motion. It is best to receive repeat treatments every 3-4 months before the full effect has worn off so the wrinkles do not form again. To get the most benefit from the treatment we recommend getting it done three or four times per year.
Most patients would consider botox to be a painless treatment as the tiniest thinnest needle is being used to administer the toxin.
The injections take about 15 minutes to perform in our office. Initially, the injection sites appear similar to mosquito bites but are hardly noticeable after 20 minutes. You may resume regular activities. We recommend you not rub the areas injected and limit vigorous exercise for about 4 hours after the injections. On occasion, you may have a small bruise lasting about a week, but the bruise is easily covered with makeup.
Dysport works a bit faster than Botox by several days. You may see results in 4-5 days with Dysport and about 1-2 weeks with Botox. The full effect of both medications takes two weeks. Every patient is different, some needing more medication than others. On occasion it may require a touch up adding more medication to give the desired result. We always wait two weeks before additional injections to allow enough time for the medication to take full effect.

Downtime is minimal and ranges from 1-5 days, the longer time for superficial treatment and higher energy levels. Makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. You should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness depending on the treatment parameters.
Visible results can be seen within a few days but are best noticeable after 6 weeks with improvements continuing up to 12 months after treatment.
You may experience some common temporary side effects such as bleeding, scabbing, swelling and redness that should subside within a few days. Pinprick marks from the needles will fade on their own within two weeks.
Your clinician will advise you to cease any potential contraindicated medications prior to the procedure. You should arrive with clean skin, i.e. no lotions, creams, make-up, etc.

Hair is reduced with each treatment and results are observed after four to six sessions. The number of sessions will differ depending on your hair colour, hair type, body type, body area and skin tone.
You should avoid any tanning type 3-4 weeks prior treatment or use at least 30 SPF sun block. Avoid irritant topical agents for 2-3 days before treatment. Please shave hair and ensure that your skin is clean. Do not wax or pluck your hair.
